The United Nations Rethink Entheogens

It all begins with a evolutionary shift in global consciousness and a visionary to jump-start human growth and revelation. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has plans to call on governments across the globe to decriminalize drug use and the possession of drugs for personal use. The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization that aims to maintain international peace and security while developing friendly relations among nations and achieving international cooperation by harmonizing the actions of nations. A shift in International policy like this from the UN could effectively bring an end to the War on Drugs.

There are many advantages to a worldwide decriminalization of all drugs especially psychedelic drugs for mental health and breakthrough therapy for patients with previously incurable disorders and physical illnesses. Legalization of drugs will not only provide scientific research and safe access to potentially life saving cures to physical, mental, and emotional health problems, but will also disable the dangerous cartels and put the for-profit prisons out of business. Over-populated prisons across the globe will start to empty from the lack of non-violent drug offenders being locked-up and instead being sent to rehab. Addiction rates will drop as people are provided substance abuse education and the local street dealer will be put out of business by legal doctors and pharmacies. We will have to take a better look at the way we view these substances and decide to finally end the unwinnable war on drugs. Its time to make the world a better place for all the millions of people suffering and desperately looking for a better quality of life. Treating patients like criminals will never reflect our true values of compassion and the right to life, liberty, and happiness.
