World Oceans Day 2023 has drawn attention to various global initiatives aimed at conserving and sustainably managing our oceans. India's Ministry of Earth Sciences has launched the ambitious Deep Ocean Mission aimed at exploring and sustainably using ocean resources. In Japan, the government's Basic Plan on Ocean Policy includes measures to conserve marine biodiversity and promote the development of marine renewable energy.

World Oceans Day 2023 served to underscore the crucial importance of our oceans and the need for concerted global action to protect and sustainably manage them.
